  1. Iʻve become a student.

  2. I got/took the student for my team.

  3. I became/was the student.

    1. Ua lilo wau ʻo wau ka haumāna.

  4. Nani got/took the taro (in the lucky number drawing).

    1. Ua lilo ke kalo iā Nani.

  5. The taro turned into/became/was made into kūlolo. 

    1. Ua lilo ke kalo i kūlolo.

  6. These ʻopihi shells are used as/become knives for cleaning the taro.

    1. Ua lilo kēia mau iwi ʻopihi i mau pahi no ka hoʻomaʻemaʻe ʻana i ke kalo.

  7. When we cleaned the taro, I got/took the ʻopihi shells and she got/took the knife.

  5. I got that big ulua (that we saw swimming under the cliff yesterday).
