ka hānai               to set a volleyball for someone else to hit?

ka hōkio               to whisle as done by a human being with lips, to whisle a tune

ka hoʻokūkū         to compete against (used with "me")

ke keʻakeʻa           to block something (e.g. ball in volleyball)

ke kiokio               chirp, whistle, as a bird does 

ke kiʻi                    to receive a pass in volleyball

ke koʻu                  to lightly hit a ball over the net in volleyball

ke kuʻi ʻāmana      to "bump" pass

ka lanakila            to beat another contestant, victory (used with "ma luna o")

ka paio                 to contest against another

ke pāonioni          to contest back and forth over a period of time (used with "me")

ka pākī                  1.To throw something down to smash it; 2.Volleyball spike

ke paʻi ulele         a serve in volleyball

ka hāʻule              to lose in a game

ke kuʻia                 to be fouled by someone, to have an infraction in a game caused

                             by someone

ka maka               to lose in a game (informal)

ka maka pilau     to lose without making any points

ka welenia            burning pain as from bee sting

ka wiʻu                  smarting pain as when hit by a spiked volleyball
